The break strength we needed was only 200 lbs. the 1/4 inch Amsteel was more than 7000 lbs. Price for nylon and polyethylene was about .50/foot but we gained 35 % more strength. I could even drop to 1/8 inch size and if my calculations are correct I would still have ten times the strength I need at nearly the same price as nylon or polyethylene.
